Setting up "Meet Me" Phone Conferencing

These instructions cover setting up the "Meet Me' phone conferencing for conferences requiring more than 5 call-in attendees. This will support up to 32 call-in attendees.

Meet Me Phone Conferencing Instructions

 

Note:  All Meet-Me Conference DID Numbers can have a maximum of 32 participants each.

 

All Campus (All Sites) Use – Media Services Meet-Me Conference Number: Extension 6697 or 6698

 (Outside Participant Meet-Me Number:  503-594-6697 or 503-594-6698 respectively depending on which one you are using.)

 

Here are the different steps for using an IP Phone or an IP Conference Phone with Meet-Me Conference Bridging:


To use Meet-Me from a VOIP IP desk phone (Cisco IP 88xx)

  1. Press the “Speaker” button (or pick up the handset), and then press More.
  2. Press the Meet-me soft key.
  3. Dial the Meet-me number above.  The Meet-me conference is now active. Callers can now dial the Meet-me number to become active in the conference call.  (Note:  Callers hear a busy signal until the conference bridge is opened.)

 To use Meet Me from a VOIP IP conference phone (Example:  Cisco 793x Polycom IP Conference Phone in B101 ITS Conference Room)

  1. Press the Phone button, and then press the Menu button.
  2. Select Call functions, and then select Meet-me.
  3. Dial the Meet-me conference number.  The Meet-me conference is now active. Callers can now dial the Meet-me number to become active in the conference call.  (Note: Callers hear a busy signal until the conference bridge is opened.)

Notes:

  • Once another party arrives in the Meet-me conference, the initiator may drop out without ending the conference call.
  • Meet-me conference stays active until all callers drop from the conference.
  • A maximum of 32 callers can be accommodated via Meet-me conference.
