Identify the Media Control Address (MAC) on a Windows 10 device:

 

The following instructions provide guidance on how to identify the Wi-Fi MAC address on Windows 10 and later devices. Instructions are provided for the Graphical User Interface and Command Line but only one method needs to be completed. Use the method that best suits your level of comfort.

The provided screenshots are provided as examples and your screens may differ based upon the particular edition and version of Windows being used.

Find Wi-Fi MAC Using the Graphical User Interface

 

  1. Click on the start menu and open the ‘Settings’ app

  1. In the ‘Settings’ app select the ‘Network & Internet’ icon

 

  1. From the ‘Network & Internet’ page select ‘Wi-Fi’ from the menu on the left of the page

  1. In the ‘Wi-Fi’ page click on the link for ‘Hardware properties’

  1. Locate the property called ‘Physical address (MAC):’ and the value to the right of this property.

 

 

 

 

 

Find Wi-Fi MAC Using the Command Line Interface

  1. Open a command prompt and enter ipconfig /all
  2. Identify the Wi-Fi adapter from the results. The Wi-Fi adapter will indicate (Wi-Fi) similar to the example
  3. Locate the ‘Physical Address’ property of the Wi-Fi Adapter and note the value to the right
