Beginning Spring term 2027, Clackamas Community College will slowly transition away from Adobe Pro to Foxit PDF Editor+ (June 2027 deadline) as its supported PDF application. Foxit offers the core features faculty and staff rely on in Adobe Pro, including creating, editing, converting, combining, commenting, e-signatures and buildable forms.
Employees can receive ITS support for access, installation and troubleshooting for Foxit PDF Editor+. Due to the associated license costs, much like Adobe, Foxit access and installation requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and business justification may be required in the submitted ticket.
Employees may request Foxit PDF Editor+ support for assistance with, but not llimited to the following types of services:
- Access and installation
- Updates
- Configuration
Report any Foxit related issues or malfunctions to the ITS service desk to receive assistance with, but not limited to, the following types of errors:
- Login or access errors
- Application crashes or freezes
- Update failures
- Syncing issues
- Other unexpected outages or disruptions

Why is the college switching from Adobe Pro to Foxit?
Adobe has changed their licensing structure, resulting in substantial increases in cost per license. Because of the growing expenses, and in an effort to prevent reducing the number of employees who have PDF editing capabilities, ITS looked for a product with equivalent functionality and selected Foxit.
I have Adobe Pro currently, can I get access to Foxit PDF Editor+ now to get familiar before the formal transition in Spring?
Yes! Employees who currently have access to Adobe Pro but also want access to Foxit can keep both licenses as they slowly become familiar with their new PDF editor solution. ITS will begin transitioning off Adobe licenses in Spring 2027.
Does Foxit offer training or additional resources to help me get familiar with the application?
Yes! Foxit PDF Editor+ offers a substantial online resource hub, complete with demo videos, articles and more. Please feel free to reference their online resources here. Will Foxit replace Adobe Creative Cloud apps such as Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign?
No. Foxit PDF Editor+ replaces Adobe Pro only. It does not include design, photo or video editing tools. Employees who use Creative Cloud apps will keep their access after the transition ends June 2027.
