To strengthen security and safeguard sensitive information used to support our students and staff, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is required to access key systems and applications - including Microsoft 365, myClackamas, Moodle, and others. MFA adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a second method of verification in addition to your password.
To ease the use of MFA, the ITS department recommends downloading the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device which can be found in the Google Play Store here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.azure.authenticator&hl=en_US or the Apple Store (for iOS) here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/microsoft-authenticator/id983156458
Additional verification options include receiving a 6-digit code via text message or completing verification through an automated phone call to your registered number. Get assistance from the ITS service desk to update your phone number or secondary email associated with your college account after notifying HR of your contact information change via the NeoGov portal (employee's only). Students should update their contact information with Records and Registration.
Students and staff can report MFA Issues for troubleshooting support which includes, but is not limited to the following services:
- MFA is no longer functioning as intended
- Delays in code delivery
- Failure to generate verification codes
- No longer receiving phone calls/text messages
