Statement of Purpose
Clackamas Community College’s Information Security Policies are designed to achieve the following objectives:

Foster a culture where security is recognized as a shared responsibility, ensuring the college meets its business and legal obligations.

Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of ITS resources to support the academic mission.

Safeguard users from data breaches, cyber threats, and other security risks.

Ensure ITS resources are used in alignment with the principles and values governing other college facilities and services.

Prevent the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive or controlled data.

Minimize disruptions to the learning experience by maintaining a secure and reliable IT environment.

Protect the college from financial, legal, regulatory, and reputational risks associated with security incidents.

Ensure ITS systems and resources are used exclusively for their intended purposes.

Define clear procedures for addressing policy violations and enforcing appropriate sanctions for non-compliance.
