When you are approved to have Adobe Acrobat Pro (Subscription version) instead of Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020, this is the process of getting it installed:
If you have Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020, Adobe Reader or any other version, this will automatically get uninstalled during this process.
You will first get an email from Adobe notifying you of your access. Click the Get Started button in the email. If you do not see this email in your inbox, check your spam and junk folder.
After you click the button, a web page will pull up leading you to the Adobe website. If you have never created an Adobe account before using your staff email, you will be prompted to create an account.
Your password can be the same or different than your MyClackamas password, as long as it fits Adobe's requirements.
When you are done, click Complete Account.
If you already have an Adobe account, it will ask you to log in. if you do not remember your password, click on Reset Password at the bottom. These Adobe accounts are 'Personal Accounts' and not managed by the college.
If at any point you get prompted to select which profile to use, be sure to select "Clackamas Community College" and NOT the "Personal Profile".
Once you get logged in, you will be brought to a page where it will automatically start downloading the application for you.
Go to the location the installer downloaded to and run it (this could simply be in the downloads folder on your computer). When you get started, you will be prompted to sign in with your Adobe account. This is going to tie your account to the application to make sure you are licensed to it.
When the install asks you if you would like to install Adobe Genuine Service, be sure to uncheck the box.
During the install, it will ask you about your experience with Adobe Acrobat. It is recommended to select Skip question at the bottom for each prompt.
Once the install is complete, you will be greeted to the application. There is a good chance that it will show up as Adobe Acrobat Reader in the top left. You should be prompted soon after to upgrade the application to enable the Acrobat Pro features.
Soon after, you should be prompted to upgrade the application to enable the Acrobat Pro features. This is a secondary installation that may take a few minutes.
Finally, you should be brought back to the same screen that now shows just Acrobat in the top left.
You can start by editing a PDF file and making sure that you have all the capabilities that you need. That should be it!
